FAQs

My child isn't showing any "Readiness signs" for potty learning, is that a problem?

"Readiness signs" is a phrase I'd encourage you to move away from, and there are many reasons why.

If we wait for our children to show us they're ready, we could be waiting a long time. Some children simply won't show those signs at all.

What matters far more is starting preparation and practice early, so that when the time comes, it feels familiar rather than daunting, for your child and for you.

Will sleep training mean leaving my child to cry it out?

In short, no.

I don't use the cry it out method in my practice, I use gradual, responsive methods throughout.

That said, we are making changes, and no child loves change do you?

I would never promise a completely tear-free process, but any tears are far more likely to be "hey, this feels different and I'm not sure about it" rather than distress. And throughout all of it, you'll be there to comfort and reassure them every step of the way.

My child starts school soon, is it too late?

Absolutely not!

Let's have a chat, find out what's going on, and see what foundations we can put in place before they start their big adventure.

It's never too late to get the right support.

Can I book sleep and potty support at the same time?

In a nutshell, no, and that's intentional.

Tackling both at once is simply too much for everyone involved.

My recommendation is usually to get sleep right first; when you're all feeling more rested and patient, potty learning becomes so much more manageable.

That said, these are your goals and your priorities.

If potty learning is the most pressing thing right now, let's talk it through and figure out the best plan for your family.

How is this different from just Googling advice?

Time and again, parents come to me feeling completely overwhelmed by the noise. So much conflicting advice, so many different opinions, and no idea who to trust.

I completely understand it. What I offer is the opposite of that: a plan that is unique to your child, your needs, and your goals. No generic advice, no more rabbit holes at 2am. Just clear guidance that tells you exactly what to do and when.

Can you sort my child's potty training in 3 days?

No, and I would never claim that I could. Potty learning is a journey, not a three-day event, and it should be treated as such.

Some children may make brilliant progress quickly, but rushing the process without the right foundations in place rarely leads to lasting results. My approach is about building skills that stick, for your child and for you.

I currently breastfeed — does this mean I can't sleep train?

Please don't let this put you off! I have worked with many families who have continued their breastfeeding journey and achieved better sleep at the same time.

There is a common myth that breastfed babies don't sleep as well - and it really is just that, a myth.

If you choose to continue breastfeeding, we simply incorporate this into your plan.

Remember, this is your plan and your goals. I'm just here to support you in reaching them.
